DFS With Eclipse/composer Configuration

Hi ,

I am new In DFS and i want to configure it to the composer/Eclipse.

i go through the different thread and found that Some Steps.

these are the steps ,correct me if i am wrong.

1.install the composer

2.Them i created the documentum project .

3.Down load the Dfs SDK.

4.Import the DFS-SDK into the created project (through File System)

Here its hang while importing...

please help to configure the DFS with Composer.

Give some Detailed Steps.

Restrict the user in WP

Hi

We have several departments and associate users. These users are creating new content through Web publisher in any department.

we need to restrict user so that user should be able to create new content in concerned department only not in others departments.

What would be the best approch to implement this?

component error message

I regularly receive the ../webtop/component/errormessage ( empty blue screen as attached) when i clik on my webtop URL. All webtop applications in that directory of OAS are have the same problem, so user can't even see any login page.

This problem occurs when i restart my OAS more frequently.
Normally it used to fix by itself after sometime or when i re-install the default webtop.

Please let me know the cause & fix for this issue.

scope and preset(Challenging question)

Hi Friends
I have created a preset for my cabinet Location ---> CabinetName---> Folder Name
And for my actions .xml file i have scoped to only one cabinet
After i used scope for the location.. Preset is not working..
If i removed the location in the scope tag . ... Preset is working fine
pl solve this problem... i need to use both and Preset

Acquiring a specific task from inbox

Hi,

I am struggling with a very peculiar issue here. I am modifying the ObjectLocator component, so that when a user selects a task from his inbox and decides to delegate it to another user,the list of users he gets to see will comprise of users from the same group(and not all the groups, which is the case at the moment).
To provide a simple example, if a user is in 'reviewers' role, the list he gets to see, should be the list of all 'reviewers'.

In order to accmplish that, I've zeroed in on the name,task_name and the sent_by attributes of dmi_queue_item.

Now the issue I am grappling with at the moment is , that how to get the task_name of the inbox item on which the user has clicked in order to delegate it to some other user.
Though the tasks from the any user's inbox can be retrieved and processed very easily as follows:-
IDfCollection tasks = session.getTasks("someUser", DfSession.DF_TASKS, null, "task_name");

but unfortunately, this will list all the tasks in inbox of the user and I've not been able to figure out how to get that specific task_name on which the user has clicked.

Any help/suggestion on it would be greatly appreciated.

Hi guys!

I made a new document class, and I asigned it, a special ACL under DAB (object type - Security).

When I check that document class, under permissions, in active permissions set says: acl_superuser, but if I try to change it, appears the next message:

(DM_SYSOBJECT_E_VERSION_MISMATCH) error: operation failed because of version mismatch

And it does not give me any way to modify it to add users or groups.

Please help me.

Hi everyone. I found error to synchronize MyDocumentum. The error is "Path is too long". I have 6 sub-folder layers. If I have 5 sub-folder, It can sync no problem.

How to configuration MyDocumentum Offline for solve this issue?

In the work flow under performer tab there is a check box for "execute this method automatically", in the drop down list I see multiple methods. Where can I look up what these methods do like the "dm_bps_mail". I have not located any reference manuals at this point. Thank you.

Running the sample dfcjsp application

Hello all,

I am new to developing documentum related stuff in java. I found this dfcjsp sample which I am trying to run.

1) The documentum server resides on a different machine.
2) I am trying to deploy the sample application in tomcat
3) I have the dfc.jar file on classpath

However I am unable to run the sample. Is there any other software I need to install on the machine where I am running the java application? Kindly help!
